SubhanAllah

Glory to God who is far away from any imperfection or defect.
“Subhanallah” (سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰهُ) originates from two Arabic words which also exist in Aramaic and Hebrew. Allah(الله) means "the God" or a better match "the one and only God". It is a special word, can't be plural and can't have gender. Some of oldest Christian sects still use the word Allah for God. The word “Subhan” comes from the root word “sabh, س-ب-ح (s-b-h)” which means to swim on the surface or to float. To float and not to mix with the liquid is the original metaphor. We people create plenty of ideas and adjectives about God, we can call it a sea of thoughts. Most of those thoughts depreciate the God, such as trinity, having a son, to be like a human being etc.. By saying SubhanAllah we stand by that God is beyond any imperfections thus we declare the perfection of God by rejecting imperfections. Similarly Subhan is a legacy praise which is found in Aramaic (root ש-ב-ח [š-b-ḥ]) and Hebrew (same root ש-ב-ח). It's meaning is to praise or to glorify in Aramaic and to praise or to commend in Hebrew. Let's say SubhanAllah for being immersed in the realization of God’s perfection and greatness.
